Deacon Gilberto was born Nov. 19, 1969, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His home parish is St. Peter in Worcester. He was ordained a deacon for the diocese on June 1, 2019 at the Cathedral of St. Paul's. He was assigned by Bishop McManus to St. Bernard's immediately following ordination. He and his wife, Isis Gomera-Ceballos, have three children: Gilberto, 24, Rafael, 23, and Alexis, 23. He attended Medardo Carazo High School in Puerto Rico. He got his bachelor’s in science from Inter American University in Puerto Rico in 1993. He is an inventory specialist for Polar Beverage Corp., Worcester.
Deacon Gilberto and his wife bring a vibrant/dedicated faith life to the parish and assist in many areas in the life of the church. You are always greeted with a warm invitational smile by them both. They are also active in the John 23rd Movement here in the Diocese.
