With experience as a former basketball player, coach and multisport athlete, Coach Ryan Brown seeks opportunities to develop, guide, and teach young athletes to compete and perform at high levels. He is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Engineering, and currently works as a Computer Analyst for the US Department of Transportation. In his spare time, Coach Brown looks to create opportunities for youth to access training to play the game of basketball.
Ryan’s coaching philosophy is that instilling the basic principles of commitment, integrity, confidence, positive work ethic, and toughness, and teaching the fundamentals of basketball will improve players’ skills offensively and defensively and develop their understanding of hard work being necessary for success.
Coach Brown uses basic drills and plays to not only develop each player’s skills in all areas of basketball, but also their love for the game, and strong competitiveness as important attributes in promoting a focused mindset and good sportsmanship.
Ryan played for several teams and participated in numerous sports camps, tournaments, and leagues throughout his life. Coach Brown played high school basketball for Holy Name High School in 2006 and 2007, winning back to back District Championships in both years. As a 3-sport athlete, he was awarded Athlete of the Year at Holy Name High School in 2007 and made the Worcester Telegram & Gazette Super Team/All-Stars in 2006 and 2007.
